The Lord knows who are His! Let everyone of us who call ourselves Christian depart from iniquity. Let each of us possess our own vessel in sanctification and honor. Sanctification: Abstain from sexual immorality. If we cleanse ourselves of iniquity, we are vessels for honor: sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work!
We do not belong to ourselves but to God. It is my greatest heart desire to be as near to Jesus as I can be in the Throne Room of Heaven. Not out of pride or greed or thinking more highly of myself that I ought ... but because He is My Beloved and I long to be near Him forever and always!
Corinthians 6:17-19 17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. 18 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
When we are tempted (and we will be as long as we are in these bodies of flesh), we must make a decision to let the temptation go. Not to give in or act on the temptation in any way. This is not just a physical action but a mental turning away and a refusing to entertain these thoughts. If we are weak, we only have to ask and we will be strengthened to overcome.
1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 (NKJV) 3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; 4 that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, 5 not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God;
2 Timothy 2:19-21 (NKJV) 19 Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” 20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. 21 Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.
So let me encourage each of you to joyfully live each moment, fully realizing that you CAN live a victorious life in Christ! He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it! Hold on tight to Jesus and ask for help when you need it! He gives liberally to any who ask! He knows when I need encouragement! My rhema words for today (2/12/2016) are really uplifting and exciting!
